Award-winning security integration for one of Australia's most significant transport infrastructure projects
Securitas Technology has been recognised at the 2026 ASIAL Awards for Excellence for its integrated security solution supporting Melbourne's Metro Tunnel Project.
Securitas Technology has won the 2026 ASIAL Award for Excellence in the Integrated Security Solution over $500K category for its work supporting the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project.
The recognition reflects the technical scale and delivery complexity of an integrated solution spanning five new stations and twin 9 km tunnels. Securitas Technology’s scope included engineering, installation, testing, commissioning and integration of critical electronic security and passenger-facing information systems.
The solution includes more than 8,540 integrated security devices and more than 450 km of cabling, bringing together video, access control, intrusion detection, emergency communications, passenger information and resilient network infrastructure.
Delivery required close coordination within the Cross Yarra Partnership ecosystem and a disciplined approach to safety, systems assurance, quality, interface management and staged commissioning.
The award is a strong reflection of the Securitas Technology people who brought deep technical expertise, resilience and collaboration to one of Australia’s most complex transport infrastructure environments.
For Securitas Technology, the project demonstrates what integrated security can achieve when technology is designed as part of the wider operating environment: protecting people and infrastructure, supporting informed response and creating a platform for future needs.
